In the 11th minute, one of FC GAIS:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FC GAIS. FC GAIS:s Holger Wiberg showed great skill when he stopped Joseph Hedin:s penalty. 15 minutes into the match, Claes Almqvist notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of FC GAIS's Holger Wiberg. Holger Wiberg was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Claes Almqvist in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Holger Wiberg saved FC GAIS from getting behind. Holger Wiberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Claes Almqvist's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. 23 minutes into the match, Claes Almqvist had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Holger Wiberg. FC GAIS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Claes Almqvist was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. In the 27th minute, Claes Almqvist ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Holger Wiberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. After some careless play in the FC GAIS defense, Claes Almqvist kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Holger Wiberg. The FC GAIS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Holger Wiberg should have stopped the shot. Claes Almqvist took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Holger Wiberg. Holger Wiberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. Holger Wiberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claes Almqvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Holger Wiberg came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Blyth Spartans's Claes Almqvist. But to his dismay, Claes Almqvist quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-7. Holger Wiberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claes Almqvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. The FC GAIS players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Blyth Spartans were winning 0-7.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Torsten Duset was the one to do the kick off. Blyth Spartans's Kajetan Borucki got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claes Almqvist in the 60th minute of play forced FC GAIS's goalkeeper Holger Wiberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC GAIS's Holger Wiberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save FC GAIS from getting a goal against them. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Holger Wiberg showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Laureano Cordera in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Holger Wiberg saved FC GAIS from getting behind. In the 83rd minute Ingemar Olsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arne Johansson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Xälil Qämbärov recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 86 minutes, Laureano Cordera made it 0-9 with a short kick to the right side. FC GAIS's Holger Wiberg tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, FC GAIS's Olov Biörling got a free kick in the 89th minute. If Laureano Cordera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC GAIS's goalkeeper Holger Wiberg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Torsten Duset had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
