Patrick Carlberg hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. 15 minutes into the game, Kajetan Borucki was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Blyth Spartans's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Downi FF the free kick. In the 15th match minute, Blyth Spartans was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kajetan Borucki to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Blyth Spartans's Patrick Carlberg got a free kick in the 16th minute. Xälil Qämbärov's late challenge caught a Downi FF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Xälil Qämbärov helped the player get up and apologised. Kristian Österberg scored 1-1 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Arne Johansson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 29 minutes into the game, Kent Fredriksson threw the ball into play from the sideline. Blyth Spartans's Patrick Carlberg quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After 47 minutes, Patrick Carlberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Blyth Spartans and the Downi FF players grew even worse after the yellow card. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Alf Lindström made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Claes Almqvist sent off a good shot on target. Blyth Spartans's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Thad Jøker in the 52nd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kalle Johnsson during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 52nd minute of the game. One of Downi FF:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Blyth Spartans:s goal. When the match had been going on for 54 minutes, Blyth Spartans's Joseph Hedin got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Alf Lindström. Blyth Spartans's Laureano Cordera was substituted for Claes Almqvist. Blyth Spartans made a substitution. Saturnino Valente replaced Thad Jøker. Laureano Cordera had several of the Downi FF's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 62 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-4 score and a disappointed Alf Lindström as he didn't even see the shot coming. Laureano Cordera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Alf Lindström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Saturnino Valente could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Alf Lindström made a huge save. Laureano Cordera took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alf Lindström. Alf Lindström dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-5. Laureano Cordera had several of the Downi FF's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 76 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-6 score and a disappointed Alf Lindström as he didn't even see the shot coming. 79 minutes into the game, Kajetan Borucki recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Alf Lindström. Kajetan Borucki showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-7. Downi FF's Alf Lindström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laureano Cordera in the 83rd minute of play. Joseph Hedin received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Alf Lindström came out and tried to block the shot, but Joseph Hedin slotted it home off the left post making it 1-8 in the 85th minute. 87 minutes into the match, Downi FF's goal looked a bit too open when Laureano Cordera came free, but Alf Lindström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kajetan Borucki recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Downi FF's Alf Lindström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Saturnino Valente in the 92nd minute of play. Downi FF's Alf Lindström proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Downi FF from getting a goal against them. Laureano Cordera received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Alf Lindström came out and tried to block the shot, but Laureano Cordera slotted it home off the left post making it 1-9 in the 98th minute. Blyth Spartans played a much better game than Downi FF and deserved their victory. The Downi FF players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
