Mikael Ekenberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kiruna's Mikael Ekenberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kjell Kaxe in the 12th minute of play. Mikael Ekenberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Per-Oskar Högström in the 16th minute of play. Vilhelm Vinström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oskar Mårtensson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mikael Ekenberg came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by IF Leikin's Alf Andersson. But to his dismay, Alf Andersson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 28 minutes into the match, Peter Sundström had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mikael Ekenberg. Kiruna's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Peter Sundström was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Alf Andersson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Mikael Ekenberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Ingmar Nord fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kiruna's protests and gave Ingmar Nord a yellow card for diving instead. Alf Andersson succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 3-0 in the 39th playminute. In the 43rd minute Klas Glanselius shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vilhelm Vinström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Kiruna getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Vilgot Frisk hit a great ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Klas Glanselius to strike the kick off in the second half. When Tommy Frisck fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kiruna's protests and gave Tommy Frisck a yellow card for diving instead. After 51 played minutes Kiruna got a freekick which was hit by Tommy Frisck. After 63 played minutes Kiruna got a freekick which was hit by Oskar Mårtensson. 64 minutes into the game, Vilgot Frisk was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kiruna's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave IF Leikin the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Per-Oskar Högström in the 67th minute of play forced Kiruna's goalkeeper Mikael Ekenberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Kiruna's zone, Alf Andersson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mikael Ekenberg came out of the goal and Alf Andersson tried to chip the ball over his head. IF Leikin's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
