In the 9th minute Arvid Klintæus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vilhelm Vinström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Karl-Erik Vallengren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. IF Leikin's Vilhelm Vinström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vilhelm Ekblom in the 13th minute of play. 14 minutes into the match, Karl-Åke Waller notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Dala-Järna's Conny Ekelund. Conny Ekelund was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 21 minutes into the match, Kjell Kaxe had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Conny Ekelund. Dala-Järna's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kjell Kaxe was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alf Andersson in the 25th minute of play forced Dala-Järna's goalkeeper Conny Ekelund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Dala-Järna's Vilhelm Ekblom got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Peter Sundström's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Conny Ekelund read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. The tension between the Dala-Järna and the IF Leikin players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of IF Leikin booed when Dala-Järna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonatan Falkrantz didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The wind increased when Arvid Klintæus made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Dala-Järna's zone, Alf Andersson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Conny Ekelund came out of the goal and Alf Andersson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Karl-Åke Waller received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Conny Ekelund tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bertil Haeger's late challenge caught a IF Leikin's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bertil Haeger helped the player get up and apologised. After 60 played minutes Dala-Järna got a freekick which was hit by Bertil Haeger. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Karl-Åke Waller in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Conny Ekelund prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 69 minutes into the match, Kjell Kaxe dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Conny Ekelund, 0-4. Kjell Kaxe's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Conny Ekelund read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. At last the ball reached Kjell Kaxe at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Dala-Järna. 0-6. After having played for 91 minutes, Alf Andersson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. IF Leikin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alf Andersson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 98 minutes into the game, IF Leikin's Kjell Kaxe nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Conny Ekelund made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-7. The Dala-Järna fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. IF Leikin were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
