Marko Askelöf stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vilgot Wickander's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. A collision led to FC Metropol getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Erik Dahlberg hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vilgot Wickander in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marko Askelöf saved FC Metropol from getting behind. Henrik Bollström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Älmhult's Eric Apelquist got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ingemar Alefors kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. The FC Metropol players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Älmhult were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vilgot Wickander to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Erik Dahlberg left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Metropol fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Kristoffer Kinnman came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by FC Metropol's Ionuț Budianu. But to his dismay, Ionuț Budianu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Eric Apelquist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Vilgot Wickanders short, quick shot in the 70thth minute got Marko Askelöf to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Marko Askelöf didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Älmhult. Kristoffer Kinnman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of FC Metropol booed when Älmhult was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roger Galle didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Eric Apelquist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mikael Tillman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Vilgot Wickander's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marko Askelöf was relentless in the 96th minute of the game.
