After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, August Hedbom managed to get in a good position for a shot. AC Sebastian's supporters rose to their feet, but August Hedbom was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sigvard Ingvall breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 17th match minute, Northern Lights was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gabriel Göransson to maneuver through the defense. In the 18th minute Aaron Petersson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sigvard Ingvall saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Aaron Petersson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sigvard Ingvall was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. Northern Lights's Jörn Hedman got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Josef Magnusson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jörn Hedman in the 38th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jörn Hedman to strike the kick off in the second half. The referee ignored AC Sebastian's protests and gave Ted Lilja a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Northern Lights booed when AC Sebastian was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ted Lilja didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Allan Thedin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Allan Thedin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josef Magnusson having to interfere. There was no doubt that Northern Lights were the better team. Northern Lights's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
