The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Melker Wiman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Kjell Stenquist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tommy Mårtensson in the 5th minute of play. With his leg Kjell Stenquist managed to avoid a goal in the 7thth minute, when Husby-Rekarne FF's Melker Wiman fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Tommy Mårtensson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Melker Wiman struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Kjell Stenquist didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Husby-Rekarne FF. The audience was convinced that Tommy Mårtensson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kjell Stenquist was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. Evert Finman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. The referee showed Tommy Mårtensson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 32nd minute, one of Husby-Rekarne FF:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Husby-Rekarne FF. In the 34th minute there was a penalty for Kinnarumma IFK. Marcus Vidman stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Dick Björkqvist. 0-1. Dick Björkqvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evert Finman in the 38th minute of the match. In the 45th minute Tor Lindgren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dick Björkqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Evert Finman to strike the kick off in the second half. Kjell Stenquist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tommy Mårtensson, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. But to his dismay, Tor Lindgren quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Dick Björkqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evert Finman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Husby-Rekarne FF booed when Kinnarumma IFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Axel Ekeroth didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tor Lindgren got free with Dick Björkqvist in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kjell Stenquist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tommy Mårtensson, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Evert Finman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Dick Björkqvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Evert Finman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dick Björkqvist showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 82nd match minute, Husby-Rekarne FF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrian Henriksson to maneuver through the defense. Dick Björkqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evert Finman in the 86th minute of play. In the 89th minute, Tor Lindgren got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Kinnarumma IFK walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
