FC Mack's Reine Lilja played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kaj Mattsson in the 3rd minute of play. In the 3rd minute, Osvald Wennerberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Allan Thedin in the 6th minute of play forced FC Mack's goalkeeper Reine Lilja to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 6 minutes, Anders Stolpe mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Mack and the Northern Lights players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to FC Mack getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Anders Stolpe hit a great ball. Reine Lilja showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rune Ekman in the 9th minute of the match. 10 minutes into the match, Allan Thedin notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of FC Mack's Reine Lilja. Reine Lilja was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 13 minutes, Allan Thedin made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. FC Mack's Reine Lilja tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Stefan Kvalfält kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the game, Northern Lights's Kaj Mattsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Reine Lilja made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Kaj Mattsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Reine Lilja tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 29th match minute, FC Mack was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alf Wallman to maneuver through the defense. In the 32nd minute of the match, Alf Wallman got a very nice opportunity to score, but Sigvard Ingvall was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The supporters of Northern Lights booed when FC Mack was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robert Finman didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 35 played minutes, Northern Lights's Rune Ekman shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Reine Lilja came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Northern Lights reached it. In the 38th minute, Sven-Åke Ånger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 42 minutes into the match, FC Mack's Alf Wallman sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sigvard Ingvall narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Rudolf Blomqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kaj Mattsson to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kaj Mattsson in the 56th minute of play forced FC Mack's goalkeeper Reine Lilja to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kaj Mattsson in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Reine Lilja prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rune Ekman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Allan Thedin got free with Reine Lilja in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Reine Lilja made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rune Ekman in the 67th minute of play. In the 73rd minute, Kjell-Arne Dahlbom hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Reine Lilja made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kaj Mattsson in the 78th minute of play. With 78 minutes on the clock, Alvar Skager commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Alf Wallman kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. FC Mack's Reine Lilja proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save FC Mack from getting a goal against them. Reine Lilja showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stefan Kvalfält, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. In the 93rd minute of the match, Frank Ekman tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Reine Lilja saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When the match was over Northern Lights could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than FC Mack throughout the match.
