Sivert Axelsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tor Ekeroth's late challenge caught a Harsenal AIS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tor Ekeroth helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Hjo BK's Tor Ekeroth got a free kick in the 26th minute. A hard shot by Torsten Lundström from long distance, 27 minutes into the match, got Marcus Hjortberg's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Harsenal AIS's goalkeeper Jan Malm, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jens-Ove Lindqvist had several of the Hjo BK's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 34 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-0 score and a disappointed Marcus Hjortberg as he didn't even see the shot coming. Andreas Persson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sivert Axelsson took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcus Hjortberg. Marcus Hjortberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Harsenal AIS's Jens-Ove Lindqvist was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 44th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. 47 minutes into the match, Harsenal AIS's Sivert Axelsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marcus Hjortberg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Andreas Persson to make the kick off. Marcus Hjortberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sivert Axelsson in the 53rd minute of play. In the 55th minute of the match Aaron Odin sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marcus Hjortberg skillfully saved the ball. When the match clock showed 56 minutes, the score became 5-0 when Sivert Axelsson sped through Hjo BK's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Marcus Hjortberg. Marcus Hjortberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jens-Ove Lindqvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. In the 62nd match minute, Hjo BK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Svante Petersson to maneuver through the defense. Harsenal AIS's Sivert Axelsson got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Harsenal AIS booed when Hjo BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harald Rosendahl didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sivert Axelsson scored 6-0 in the 84th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcus Hjortberg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Marcus Hjortberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jens-Ove Lindqvist's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. Harsenal AIS's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
