The audience thought a goal was coming when Harald Rosendahl got free with Philip Wallgren in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pål Sigman might have been able to make a better finish in the 5th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcus Hjortberg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pål Sigman ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 6th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hjo BK's goalkeeper Marcus Hjortberg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 8th play minute Harald Rosendahl came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Philip Wallgren. 1-0. In the 11th minute Andreas Persson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Philip Wallgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Alexander Lundgren managed to get in a good position for a shot. Puttesgrabbar's supporters rose to their feet, but Alexander Lundgren was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcus Hjortberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Alexander Lundgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 25 minutes, Pål Sigman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Puttesgrabbar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pål Sigman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 27 minutes into the match, Hjo BK's goal looked a bit too open when Alexander Lundgren came free, but Marcus Hjortberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With 29 minutes on the clock, Eric Wallin commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 29th minute, Eric Wallin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Puttesgrabbar's Philip Wallgren proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Puttesgrabbar from getting a goal against them. Puttesgrabbar's Axel Johansson got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Börje Viklund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Marcus Hjortberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcus Hjortberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexander Lundgren in the 40th minute of play. Pål Sigman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcus Hjortberg having to interfere. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Andreas Persson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Pål Sigman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 53 minutes into the match, Hjo BK's goal looked a bit too open when Börje Viklund came free, but Marcus Hjortberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Pål Sigman came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Puttesgrabbar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pål Sigman couldn't finish the play. Pål Sigman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcus Hjortberg having to interfere. Marcus Hjortberg came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by Puttesgrabbar's Pål Sigman. But to his dismay, Pål Sigman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Pål Sigman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Marcus Hjortberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stig-Ove Gustavsson kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Marcus Hjortberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pål Sigman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pål Sigman in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcus Hjortberg saved Hjo BK from getting behind. Pål Sigman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Marcus Hjortberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Pål Sigman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 91st minute, Pål Sigman made a precise shot to the right of Marcus Hjortberg. Hjo BK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. In the 94th minute, Alexander Lundgren got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
