The referee ignored Alinder IK's protests and gave Sören Bure a yellow card for diving instead. Sören Bure hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. If Filip Lagerberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Urban Bohlin's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 23rdth minute, Marko Sandell skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Alinder IK's Marko Sandell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tommy Ersman in the 25th minute of play. Vänersborg BF were furious when Niklas Svartengren was red carded, 28 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 30th minute there was a penalty for Alinder IK. When Edvard Pihlgren fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vänersborg BF's protests and gave Edvard Pihlgren a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Vänersborg BF getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Edvard Pihlgren hit a great ball. Filip Lagerberg's late challenge caught a Alinder IK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Filip Lagerberg helped the player get up and apologised. After 40 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Vänersborg BF! Sören Bure sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Alinder IK were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Filiph Björck stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 95th minute Urban Bohlin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marko Sandell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Despite being the better team, Vänersborg BF failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
