In the 11th minute Michael Grönberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adam Berggren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Per-Arne Drake's late challenge caught a Vetlanda's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. When Jan-Erik Sandberg fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vetlanda's protests and gave Jan-Erik Sandberg a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Vetlanda getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Jan-Erik Sandberg hit a great ball. Michael Grönberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 38 minutes, Jan-Erik Sandberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vetlanda's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jan-Erik Sandberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fethaxx United's Adam Berggren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michael Grönberg in the 44th minute of play. Jörgen Söderström made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Ture Kellbom sent off a good shot on target. In the 47th minute, Michael Grönberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Vetlanda's Michael Grönberg got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michael Grönberg in the 70th minute of play forced Fethaxx United's goalkeeper Adam Berggren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
