After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Kjell Torsberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gästrike-hammarby's supporters rose to their feet, but Kjell Torsberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adam Berggren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 16th minute Matthias Gallberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Göran Häll saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 31 minutes into the game, Dan Kullander cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Adam Berggren was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 34th match minute, Gästrike-hammarby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vilhelm Ödman to maneuver through the defense. Gustav Åman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Göran Häll made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matthias Gallberg in the 41st minute of play. Matthias Gallberg received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Göran Häll came out and tried to block the shot, but Matthias Gallberg slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 42nd minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kjell Torsberg made a kick off. In the 52nd minute Dan Kullander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adam Berggren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 54th minute, Matthias Gallberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Dan Kullander came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Gästrike-hammarby fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dan Kullander couldn't finish the play. Ture Kellbom's late challenge caught a Gästrike-hammarby's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ture Kellbom helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Gästrike-hammarby booed when Fethaxx United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ture Kellbom didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dan Kullander fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adam Berggren having to interfere. If Kjell Torsberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ture Kellbom fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Göran Häll having to interfere. Fethaxx United's Adam Berggren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dan Kullander in the 71st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Jens-Erik Göransson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gästrike-hammarby's supporters rose to their feet, but Jens-Erik Göransson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. After 79 minutes, Sebastian Beckström mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fethaxx United and the Gästrike-hammarby players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 80th match minute, Fethaxx United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastian Beckström to maneuver through the defense. Alvar Brovall struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Adam Berggren didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gästrike-hammarby. In the 85th minute, Dan Kullander fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Adam Berggren came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Gästrike-hammarby's Dan Kullander. But to his dismay, Dan Kullander quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Fethaxx United's goalkeeper Adam Berggren, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gustav Åman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adam Berggren having to interfere. The Fethaxx United fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Gästrike-hammarby were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
