The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jesper Larsfelt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viktor Dusett, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. When Sven-Ove Kullander fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Klågerup IK's protests and gave Sven-Ove Kullander a yellow card for diving instead. In the 15th match minute, Klågerup IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sven-Ove Kullander to maneuver through the defense. 19 minutes into the match, Klågerup IK's goal looked a bit too open when Nils Magnusson came free, but Valter Spets reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nils Magnusson who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 25thth minute tested the skills of Valter Spets when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 28 played minutes Klågerup IK got a freekick which was hit by Kjell Dahlgren. The supporters of Vargön IFK booed when Klågerup IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Viktor Dusett didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 35 minutes, Patrik Dalström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vargön IFK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patrik Dalström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Klågerup IK defense, Nils Magnusson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Valter Spets. The Klågerup IK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valter Spets should have stopped the shot. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Per-Arne Skytt to strike the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Klågerup IK's Viktor Dusett slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jesper Larsfelt. That made the score 3-1 after 53 minutes of play. After a rather tough play, Klågerup IK's Åke Löfdahl got a free kick in the 55th minute. A collision led to Vargön IFK getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Evert Sandberg hit a great ball. Valter Spets made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nils Magnusson in the 66th minute of play. 68 minutes into the match, Klågerup IK's goal looked a bit too open when Nils Magnusson came free, but Valter Spets reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Valter Spets showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nils Magnusson, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Valter Spets took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Åke Forsman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Klågerup IK getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Åke Löfdahl hit a great ball. Nils Magnusson struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Valter Spets didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vargön IFK. 78 minutes into the match, Patrik Dalström notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Klågerup IK's Valter Spets. Valter Spets was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Vargön IFK walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
