Spectators: 7500 (Terracing: 5625, Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Tomas Olsson started the match with the kick off. Alex Söderkvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Johannes Torstensson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fredrik Pilgren hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. In the 9th match minute, Vargön IFK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evert Sandberg to maneuver through the defense. Sven-Olof Berglund hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. The long shot by Jarl Willig in the 12th minute really tested Johannes Torstensson's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The supporters of We Love Mondays booed when Vargön IFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evert Sandberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Evert Sandberg hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Vargön IFK's Jesper Larsfelt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fredrik Pilgren in the 29th minute of play. Karl-Magnus Axelsson hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. If Kevin Josefsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 43 minutes into the match, Vargön IFK's goal looked a bit too open when Bertil Berg came free, but Jesper Larsfelt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bertil Berg during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 48 played minutes We Love Mondays got a freekick which was hit by Bertil Berg.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nils Magnusson made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Vargön IFK's zone, Bertil Berg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jesper Larsfelt came out of the goal and Bertil Berg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind We Love Mondays's goalkeeper Johannes Torstensson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 61 minutes, Fredrik Pilgren mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the We Love Mondays and the Vargön IFK players grew even worse after the yellow card. Fredrik Pilgren kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. In the 65th minute Nils Magnusson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johannes Torstensson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 68 minutes into the match, Alf Norberg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jesper Larsfelt. Vargön IFK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alf Norberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alex Söderkvist in the 72nd minute of play forced We Love Mondays's goalkeeper Johannes Torstensson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Evert Sandberg during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Åke Forsman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johannes Torstensson having to interfere. Johannes Torstensson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nils Magnusson in the 81st minute of play. When the match clock showed 84 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Fredrik Pilgren sped through Vargön IFK's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jesper Larsfelt. Vargön IFK's Jesper Larsfelt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Vargön IFK from getting a goal against them. With an all-out effort, We Love Mondays's Jesper Larsfelt threw himself towards the right post 93 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Tomas Olsson, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The Vargön IFK supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching We Love Mondays's performance. The match ended with a win for We Love Mondays.
