When the match had gone on for 4 minutes, Rudolf Bergvall took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Ludvig Strand to make any attempt to save it. Torgny Nordkvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dan Åström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 11th minute of the match Leo Wallmark sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ludvig Strand skillfully saved the ball. After a rather tough play, Bredsidastolpein FF's Douglas Stolpe got a free kick in the 14th minute. When Bertil Kollberg came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Bredsidastolpein FF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bertil Kollberg couldn't finish the play. Håkan Springfält sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Bredsidastolpein FF getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Urban Holmgren hit a great ball. Håkan Springfält recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Torgny Nordkvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dan Åström, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 26th minute, Per Bolander hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Bredsidastolpein FF booed when Katrineholm IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hans Svanér didn't get a good kick on the ball. Torgny Nordkvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Håkan Springfält, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Torgny Nordkvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dan Åström in the 46th minute of play. In the 47th match minute, Bredsidastolpein FF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Urban Holmgren to maneuver through the defense. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Egil Strömqvist to make the kick off. Joacim Grubb kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Sonny Ambjörnsson took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Torgny Nordkvist. Torgny Nordkvist dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Håkan Springfält struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Torgny Nordkvist didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Katrineholm IF. 66 minutes into the match, Katrineholm IF's goal looked a bit too open when Leo Wallmark came free, but Ludvig Strand reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bertil Kollberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ludvig Strand didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Egil Strömqvist went, in the 68th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. In the 72nd minute, Katrineholm IF's Dan Åström ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Torgny Nordkvist. Torgny Nordkvist yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-2. 80 minutes into the match, Dan Åström dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Torgny Nordkvist, 3-3. After 90 minutes of play, Bredsidastolpein FF's Hugo Kvalfält made it 4-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ludvig Strand was left in no man's land by his defense there! Torgny Nordkvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dan Åström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Bredsidastolpein FF were victorious despite being under pressure from Katrineholm IF for much of the match.
