The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Greger Hammarberg in the 7thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Edgar Målare, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Gabriel Termander might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Milian Villaseñor. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gabriel Termander ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Sköndals IK booed when Karlshamns AAK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tommy Norström didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Sköndals IK's Sven-Erik Kling tried to score from far away in the 13th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 15th minute, Simon Giliusson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sköndals IK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gabriel Termander in the 19th minute of play forced Karlshamns AAK's goalkeeper Milian Villaseñor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ture Jönsson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Edgar Målare made a huge save. 27 minutes into the match, Karlshamns AAK's goal looked a bit too open when Gabriel Termander came free, but Milian Villaseñor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 28th minute Greger Hammarberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgar Målare saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gabriel Termander in the 36th minute of play forced Karlshamns AAK's goalkeeper Milian Villaseñor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edgar Målare took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joachim Nyman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Conny Larsson scored 3-1 in the 48th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edgar Målare, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Malcolm Sikström stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sköndals IK's Edgar Målare played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Greger Hammarberg in the 55th minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Sven-Erik Boberg could shoot a difficult shot in the 57th minute, which Milian Villaseñor however easily saved by the left post. 60 minutes into the game, one of Sköndals IK:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Karlshamns AAK a penalty, 62 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Greger Hammarberg, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Sköndals IK's Edgar Målare. 4-1. Milian Villaseñor made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gabriel Termander in the 69th minute. Simon Giliusson's late challenge caught a Karlshamns AAK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Simon Giliusson helped the player get up and apologised. In the 70th minute, Simon Giliusson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edgar Målare showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Greger Hammarberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gabriel Termander got free with Milian Villaseñor in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Leo Ekström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 100th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. For all the effort they put into the match, the Sköndals IK players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Karlshamns AAK.
