Rivierans Guldgossar's supporters rose to their feet, but Jan Jönsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ingvar Nyman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Albin Linqvist lost his temper 8 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 7th minute, one of Rivierans Guldgossar:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Rivierans Guldgossar. Kurt Ekman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Torbjörn Blomkvist in the 12th minute. A collision led to Banken getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Mikael Harman hit a great ball. In the 18th minute, Nils-Erik Stor left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rivierans Guldgossar fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After 25 minutes, Egil Åkesson made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Banken's Ingvar Nyman tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Torbjörn Blomkvist could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Kurt Ekman made a huge save. Kurt Ekman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joacim Sandell in the 29th minute of play. With a little luck, Rivierans Guldgossar's Kurt Ekman got control of the ball when Torbjörn Blomkvist tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rune Östensson made a kick off. After some careless play in the Banken defense, Egil Åkesson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ingvar Nyman. The Banken fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ingvar Nyman should have stopped the shot. In the 76th minute Egil Åkesson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ingvar Nyman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joacim Sandell in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kurt Ekman prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 79th minute, Rivierans Guldgossar's Egil Åkesson dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-6. Jan Jönsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Ingvar Nyman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jan Jönsson struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Ingvar Nyman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rivierans Guldgossar. Mikael Harman made in the 88th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Torbjörn Blomkvist immediately put the ball in play. If Egil Åkesson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 96 minutes, Jan Jönsson took a quick shot and it went in 2-7 without a chance for Ingvar Nyman to make any attempt to save it. Rivierans Guldgossar played a much better game than Banken and deserved their victory. The Banken players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
