Andréas Gerdberg charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Andréas Gerdberg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Paris Saint-Germain's Göran Sillén got a free kick in the 5th minute. In the 15th match minute, Paris Saint-Germain was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sigvard Hellsing to maneuver through the defense. 23 minutes into the match, Paris Saint-Germain's goal looked a bit too open when Tobias Simonsson came free, but Zebastian Bengtsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tobias Simonsson had several of the Paris Saint-Germain's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 27 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Zebastian Bengtsson as he didn't even see the shot coming. Henric Forssell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zebastian Bengtsson having to interfere. When Åsele's Tobias Simonsson in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Henric Forssell managed to get in a good position for a shot. Åsele's supporters rose to their feet, but Henric Forssell was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zebastian Bengtsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 45 minutes, Tobias Qvarnström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paris Saint-Germain's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tobias Qvarnström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Henric Forssell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zebastian Bengtsson having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sigvard Hellsing stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tobias Simonsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zebastian Bengtsson having to interfere. The supporters of Paris Saint-Germain booed when Åsele was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vidar Alströmer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tobias Simonsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Zebastian Bengtsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Henric Forssell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Tobias Simonsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zebastian Bengtsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tobias Simonsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Knut Dalberg might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zebastian Bengtsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Knut Dalberg ran back to his position shaking his head. 74 minutes into the match, Paris Saint-Germain's goal looked a bit too open when Henric Forssell came free, but Zebastian Bengtsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Henric Forssell's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zebastian Bengtsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. Sigvard Hellsing fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rune Göransson having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henric Forssell in the 92nd minute of play forced Paris Saint-Germain's goalkeeper Zebastian Bengtsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tobias Simonsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Henric Forssell managed to get in a good position for a shot. Åsele's supporters rose to their feet, but Henric Forssell was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zebastian Bengtsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
