FC Chapsticks's defense didn't have a chance, in the 19th minute, when Tor Berglund scored to the left of an out of position Fabian Olsson, making the score, 1-0. Thomas Sjöberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kent Lindmark read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. A well-hit corner resulted in Harry Bäckman heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. 25 minutes into the game, FC Chapsticks's Thomas Sjöberg nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kent Lindmark made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 28th match minute, FC Chapsticks was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernt Vester to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of FC Chapsticks booed when Hällefors RK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Per-Åke Sandell didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sonny Nord didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tor Berglund made a kick off. Kent Lindmark made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thomas Sjöberg in the 54th minute of play. FC Chapsticks's Fabian Olsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tor Berglund in the 60th minute of play. Thomas Sjöberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Kent Lindmark tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 71st minute Tor Berglund shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabian Olsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Hällefors RK's Algot Wallin got a free kick in the 72nd minute. 73 minutes into the game, FC Chapsticks's Thomas Sjöberg nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched FC Chapsticks eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
