In the 39th minute Knut Johnsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isak Drewitz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 40 minutes, Kenny Mårtensson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Saynomore FC and the West Bromwich Albion players grew even worse after the yellow card. West Bromwich Albion's Arne Fastesson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save West Bromwich Albion from getting a goal against them. Knut Johnsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 99th minute, Leif Lundberg made a precise shot to the right of Isak Drewitz. Saynomore FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-3. When the referee ended the match the West Bromwich Albion players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
