But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Linus Sandwall couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by André Lilja in the 5th minute of play forced Hjälmen FC's goalkeeper Kjell-Arne Ståhlberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Henning Josefsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgar Vennerkvist in the 7th minute of play. Bengt-Arne Tingberg hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Kjell-Arne Ståhlberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Linus Sandwall in the 10th minute. Bengt-Arne Tingberg hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. When the match clock showed 21 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Kjell Sundén sped through Siesta Key FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Henning Josefsson. The crowd rose to their feet as André Lilja kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Kjell-Arne Ståhlberg. That made the score 1-1 in the 24 minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Siesta Key FC's Linus Sandwall slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Kjell-Arne Ståhlberg. That made the score 2-1 after 29 minutes of play. André Lilja received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Kjell-Arne Ståhlberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Linus Sandwall recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kjell-Arne Ståhlberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from André Lilja, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. In the 45th minute, Linus Sandwall made a precise shot to the right of Kjell-Arne Ståhlberg. Hjälmen FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kjell Sundén to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Hjälmen FC booed when Siesta Key FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel Dahlbom didn't get a good kick on the ball. Per Sandberg charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Per Sandberg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Kjell-Arne Ståhlberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling André Lilja in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kjell-Arne Ståhlberg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 77th minute Linus Sandwall shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kjell-Arne Ståhlberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Linus Sandwall's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kjell-Arne Ståhlberg was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. In the 82ndth minute of the game Linus Sandwall who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hjälmen FC's Kjell-Arne Ståhlberg was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Bengt-Arne Tingberg's late challenge caught a Hjälmen FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bengt-Arne Tingberg helped the player get up and apologised. In the 86th match minute, Siesta Key FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bengt-Arne Tingberg to maneuver through the defense. Linus Sandwall took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kjell-Arne Ståhlberg. Kjell-Arne Ståhlberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. Siesta Key FC's Henning Josefsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kjell Sundén in the 96th minute of play. Siesta Key FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
