Young boys's supporters crossed their fingers, but Karl-Åke Broman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. David Bocklund charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed David Bocklund the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Abborrträsk IK getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. David Bocklund hit a great ball. A hard shot 14 in the game by Karl-Åke Broman from a close distance when the talented Jens-Ove Wahlnäs managed to make a qualified save. Abborrträsk IK's players were relieved. Henry Pihlberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jens-Ove Wahlnäs having to interfere. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Abborrträsk IK's goalkeeper Jens-Ove Wahlnäs, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Magne Höijer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emanuel Dalberg in the 23rd minute of the match. Karl-Åke Broman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Karl-Åke Broman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jens-Ove Wahlnäs having to interfere. Abborrträsk IK's David Bocklund got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 41 played minutes Young boys got a freekick which was hit by Per-Olof Blom. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Young boys's goalkeeper Magne Höijer, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Magne Höijer didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Emanuel Dalberg went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. If David Bocklund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The crowd rose to their feet as Fabian Flinck kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Magne Höijer. That made the score 1-2 in the 53 minute of play. David Bocklund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Magne Höijer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 61st minute of the match Per-Olof Blom shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jens-Ove Wahlnäs showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Henry Pihlberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Young boys's supporters rose to their feet, but Henry Pihlberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jens-Ove Wahlnäs breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Emanuel Dalberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Magne Höijer having to interfere. The corner ended in Ingvar Biörk almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Young boys's Magne Höijer did a great save. In the 96th minute Kasper Löfkvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Magne Höijer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 97th minute, Emanuel Dalberg reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Magne Höijer. The goal made the score 1-3. Abborrträsk IK played a much better game than Young boys and deserved their victory. The Young boys players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
