Spectators: 7487 (Terracing: 5616, Seating: 1722, VIP seats: 149) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Kristian Sundin came out of the goal and Edvard Ekegren tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 20 minutes into the game, Kjell Ekman recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Henrik Hagberg. Kjell Ekman showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Henrik Hagberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kjell Ekman in the 29th minute of the match. Henrik Hagberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Christer Sandell in the 37th minute. Uno Josefsson kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. In the 44th minute, Christer Sandell got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 47 minutes, Jan-Ove Ekeroth managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stamford United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jan-Ove Ekeroth was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kjell Ekman stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Henrik Hagberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christer Sandell in the 56th minute of play. Henrik Hagberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kjell Ekman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Uno Josefsson hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. In the 69th minute, Kjell Ekman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Henrik Hagberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. A collision led to Stamford United getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Uno Josefsson hit a great ball. Henrik Hagberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christer Sandell in the 88th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Christoffer Löfgren managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stamford United's supporters rose to their feet, but Christoffer Löfgren was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kristian Sundin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 96 played minutes Stamford United got a freekick which was hit by Uno Josefsson.
