The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Stamford United's Edwin Hernström got a free kick in the 9th minute. Henrik Hagberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonathan Jakobsson in the 10th minute of play. When Kasper Carlberg came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Shpongle fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kasper Carlberg couldn't finish the play. In the 18th minute, Kasper Carlberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 23 minutes into the match, Stamford United's goal looked a bit too open when Jonathan Jakobsson came free, but Henrik Hagberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Henrik Hagberg didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kasper Carlberg went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After 34 minutes, Edwin Hernström mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Stamford United and the Shpongle players grew even worse after the yellow card. Edwin Hernström kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. In the 36th minute Kasper Carlberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henrik Hagberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Henrik Hagberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonathan Jakobsson in the 37th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Kasper Carlberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Shpongle's supporters rose to their feet, but Kasper Carlberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Henrik Hagberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kasper Carlberg in the 41st minute of play forced Stamford United's goalkeeper Henrik Hagberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 44th match minute, Stamford United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Egon Sörman to maneuver through the defense. Edwin Hernström kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 80th minute, Kasper Carlberg fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Henrik Hagberg, passed just outside the right post. After having played for 82 minutes, Jonathan Jakobsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shpongle's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jonathan Jakobsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Shpongle's zone, Christoffer Löfgren stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Karl-Michael Forssell came out of the goal and Christoffer Löfgren tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Shpongle's Ivan Nyqvist got a free kick in the 84th minute. 90 minutes into the match, Shpongle's goal looked a bit too open when Edvard Ekegren came free, but Karl-Michael Forssell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kasper Carlberg in the 95th minute of play forced Stamford United's goalkeeper Henrik Hagberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
