When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Robert Wållander put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Joachim Nyman. Sten Tinglöf took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Magne Dalkvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Villiam Wallman fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Råssnäs IF's protests and gave Villiam Wallman a yellow card for diving instead. After 27 played minutes Råssnäs IF got a freekick which was hit by Villiam Wallman. In the 32nd minute, Magne Dalkvist ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sten Tinglöf was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After a rather tough play, Himmelsblå's Helge Blomqvist got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Sten Tinglöf showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Magne Dalkvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. With an all-out effort, Himmelsblå's Sten Tinglöf threw himself towards the right post 60 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Magne Dalkvist, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 65 minutes into the match, Råssnäs IF's goal looked a bit too open when Magne Dalkvist came free, but Sten Tinglöf reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Råssnäs IF's Robert Wållander in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Råssnäs IF were victorious despite being under pressure from Himmelsblå for much of the match.
