A collision led to Sandared getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Esbjörn Lång hit a great ball. The supporters of Sandared booed when AS Sockenplan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel Nord didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Leonardo Ekeroth came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the AS Sockenplan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leonardo Ekeroth couldn't finish the play. Jon Holmberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan-Ove Simonsson having to interfere. Jan-Ove Simonsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Esbjörn Lång in the 30th minute of play. After 32 played minutes AS Sockenplan got a freekick which was hit by Joel Nord. Jan-Ove Simonsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Esbjörn Lång, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mats Aleberg in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jan-Ove Simonsson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jon Holmberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan-Ove Simonsson having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jon Holmberg was the one to do the kick off. Jan-Ove Simonsson made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Jon Holmberg sent off a good shot on target. In the 55th match minute, AS Sockenplan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joel Nord to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in AS Sockenplan's zone, Jon Holmberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jan-Ove Simonsson came out of the goal and Jon Holmberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 61st minute, Jon Holmberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ingvar Dahlquist during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Leonardo Ekeroth hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Mats Aleberg blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jan-Ove Simonsson having to make a save. 69 minutes into the game, Mats Aleberg recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jan-Ove Simonsson. Mats Aleberg showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. In the 75th minute, Joel Nord hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Jon Holmberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sandared's Mats Aleberg got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Esbjörn Lång's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jan-Ove Simonsson was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. Mats Aleberg was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 95th minute. Sandared's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. When the final whistle sounded Sandared left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than AS Sockenplan.
