Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Leonardo Ekeroth took the kick off in the first half of the match. Jan-Ove Simonsson made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Robert Bohlin sent off a good shot on target. Through an outstanding action, after 14 minutes, Jan-Ove Simonsson successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Jan-Ove Simonsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olof Lund in the 20th minute of play. 23 minutes into the match, Sälen's goal looked a bit too open when Jan-Åke Fernström came free, but Robert Albom reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jan-Ove Simonsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Robert Bohlin in the 33rd minute. Robert Bohlin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With his leg Jan-Ove Simonsson managed to avoid a goal in the 37thth minute, when Sälen's Robert Bohlin fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Christian Bergkvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan-Ove Simonsson having to interfere. If Olof Lund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Olof Lund to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Sälen's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Leonardo Ekeroth fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 57 minutes into the match, AS Sockenplan's goal looked a bit too open when Olof Lund came free, but Jan-Ove Simonsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jan-Ove Simonsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Olof Lund's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. Robert Bohlin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Jan-Ove Simonsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 65 minutes into the match, AS Sockenplan's goal looked a bit too open when Olof Lund came free, but Jan-Ove Simonsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sälen's Christian Bergkvist got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sälen's Robert Bohlin got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 71 minutes into the match, AS Sockenplan's goal looked a bit too open when Olof Lund came free, but Jan-Ove Simonsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. AS Sockenplan's Jan-Ove Simonsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olof Lund in the 73rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Sälen's zone, Leonardo Ekeroth stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Robert Albom came out of the goal and Leonardo Ekeroth tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the AS Sockenplan defense, Robert Bohlin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jan-Ove Simonsson. The AS Sockenplan fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jan-Ove Simonsson should have stopped the shot. Sälen's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
