The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. George Lindman kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the game, Surahammars IF's Paul Collin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kalle Bengtsson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. The supporters of Västergårds Fotbollsklubb booed when Surahammars IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Svante Jonasson didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Felix Pihlblad came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Västergårds Fotbollsklubb fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felix Pihlblad couldn't finish the play. In the 27th minute, Felix Pihlblad left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Västergårds Fotbollsklubb fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. A collision led to Västergårds Fotbollsklubb getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Joseph Stensson hit a great ball. 30 minutes into the match, Västergårds Fotbollsklubb's goal looked a bit too open when Sven-Oskar Malmberg came free, but Kalle Bengtsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nils-Erik Aleberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from George Lindman in the 33rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Västergårds Fotbollsklubb's Karl-Magnus Wästerberg got a free kick in the 34th minute. 37 minutes into the match, Sven-Oskar Malmberg dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Kalle Bengtsson, 2-1. Surahammars IF's Nils-Erik Aleberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by George Lindman in the 39th minute of play. George Lindman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 47th minute, Felix Pihlblad got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when George Lindman made the kick off in the second half. When Pontus Ek fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Surahammars IF's protests and gave Pontus Ek a yellow card for diving instead. Pontus Ek hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. A collision led to Surahammars IF getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Uno Ennegren hit a great ball. Surahammars IF's Nils-Erik Aleberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jens-Åke Vestberg in the 55th minute of play. Joseph Stensson hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven-Oskar Malmberg in the 57th minute of play forced Västergårds Fotbollsklubb's goalkeeper Kalle Bengtsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, August Söderström managed to get in a good position for a shot. Västergårds Fotbollsklubb's supporters rose to their feet, but August Söderström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nils-Erik Aleberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 66th minute, Västergårds Fotbollsklubb's Jens-Åke Vestberg dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paul Collin in the 70th minute of play forced Västergårds Fotbollsklubb's goalkeeper Kalle Bengtsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Surahammars IF defense, George Lindman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nils-Erik Aleberg. The Surahammars IF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nils-Erik Aleberg should have stopped the shot. Nils-Erik Aleberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Pihlblad, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 80th minute, Oscar Dahlbom hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 85 minutes into the match, Västergårds Fotbollsklubb's goal looked a bit too open when Sven-Oskar Malmberg came free, but Kalle Bengtsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Surahammars IF's zone, George Lindman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nils-Erik Aleberg came out of the goal and George Lindman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jens-Åke Vestberg got free with Nils-Erik Aleberg in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the final whistle sounded Västergårds Fotbollsklubb left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Surahammars IF.
