The attack was good, but when Juan Fågel in the 10th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. 13 minutes into the game, Forsheda FF's Oscar Byström nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Olov Boström made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Allan Tinglöv could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Olov Boström made a huge save. In the 18th match minute, Umeå FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Georg Kruse to maneuver through the defense. Forsheda FF's Evert Lundberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan Fågel in the 27th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Umeå FC's Kent Sundling got a free kick in the 38th minute. With a little luck, Umeå FC's Olov Boström got control of the ball when Christer Falkrantz tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bengt-Arne Rolandsson was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 44 minutes into the match. After 43 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Umeå FC!

Karl-Axel Nordkvist hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. If Christer Falkrantz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 54 minutes, Kent Sundling mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Umeå FC and the Forsheda FF players grew even worse after the yellow card. Oscar Byström kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Sven-Edvin Blomqvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Evert Lundberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Oscar Byström took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Olov Boström. Olov Boström dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. In the 64th minute, Sven-Erik Björk made a precise shot to the right of Olov Boström. Umeå FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. In a very dangerous position, a player in Umeå FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 67th minute. Penalty! In the 69th minute, Ulf Nyström left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Forsheda FF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. 76 minutes into the game, Umeå FC's Sven-Edvin Blomqvist nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. The Umeå FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Olov Boström should have stopped the shot. Forsheda FF's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
