After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Jerry Sander managed to get in a good position for a shot. meldo's supporters rose to their feet, but Jerry Sander was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kalle Eskilsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 12 played minutes Stellan Felin rounded Vänersborg FK's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-0. When Lucas Olsmann came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Vänersborg FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lucas Olsmann couldn't finish the play. Lucas Olsmann recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 21st minute, Lucas Olsmann left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vänersborg FK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Patrik Fågel charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Patrik Fågel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 29th minute, Patrik Fågel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stellan Felin in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kalle Eskilsson saved Vänersborg FK from getting behind. With a little luck, Vänersborg FK's Kalle Eskilsson got control of the ball when Jerry Sander tried to sneak it across the goal line. 45 minutes into the game, Stellan Felin recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Kalle Eskilsson. Stellan Felin showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Stellan Felin was the one to do the kick off. Kalle Eskilsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stellan Felin, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Patrik Fågel kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Lucas Olsmann recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. A very good chance. 63 minutes into the match, meldo's goal looked a bit too open when Magnus Jelm came free, but Per-Olof Granberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lucas Olsmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Per-Olof Granberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vänersborg FK's Magnus Jelm got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kjell Håkansson hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. In the 79th minute, Sigvard Öfverman sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Vänersborg FK's Kalle Eskilsson didn't even have to move. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind meldo's goalkeeper Per-Olof Granberg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Pontus Hjelm was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 89 minutes into the match. After 88 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for meldo! The goalkeeper, Per-Olof Granberg, was totally fooled by Vänersborg FK's Kjell Håkansson, who 91 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Per-Olof Granberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Magnus Jelm in the 95th minute of the match. When Lucas Olsmann came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Vänersborg FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lucas Olsmann couldn't finish the play. 99 minutes in the game, Magnus Jelm fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Per-Olof Granberg having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The meldo fans cheered their team off the field, for while Vänersborg FK had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
