Harry Ek who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 4thth minute tested the skills of Robin Olsen when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 10th minute, Harry Ek got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Harry Ek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robin Olsen having to interfere. 15 minutes into the game, Lyrestad's Harry Ek nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Robin Olsen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arvin Vinström in the 19th minute of play forced Lyrestad's goalkeeper Fredric Runeberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. IF Elfsborg's Robin Olsen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save IF Elfsborg from getting a goal against them. Fredric Runeberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arvin Vinström in the 30th minute of play. 30 minutes into the game, Arvin Vinström cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Fredric Runeberg was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to IF Elfsborg getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Arvin Vinström hit a great ball. Arvin Vinström kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Robin Olsen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jens-Ove Botvidsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. A collision led to IF Elfsborg getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Elof Fors hit a great ball. Fredric Runeberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olle Bryngelsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lyrestad's Fredric Runeberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olle Bryngelsson in the 46th minute of play. Fredric Runeberg came out of the goal in the 48th minute to try and stop a shot by IF Elfsborg's Arvin Vinström. But to his dismay, Arvin Vinström quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Harry Ek to make the kick off. When Olle Bryngelsson came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the IF Elfsborg fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Olle Bryngelsson couldn't finish the play. Olle Bryngelsson succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-3 in the 59th playminute. Fredric Runeberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arvin Vinström, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. In the 68th minute of the match Adrian Damm sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fredric Runeberg skillfully saved the ball. 70 minutes into the game, Olle Bryngelsson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Fredric Runeberg was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Olle Bryngelsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Walter Josefsson kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Fredric Runeberg didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Olle Bryngelsson went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-5 was the resulting score. The crowd rose to their feet as Arvin Vinström kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Fredric Runeberg. That made the score 1-6 in the 84 minute of play. Harry Ek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 89th minute, IF Elfsborg's Arvin Vinström dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-7. Arvin Vinström took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fredric Runeberg. Fredric Runeberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-8. 97 minutes into the game, Harry Ek was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lyrestad's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave IF Elfsborg the free kick. Harry Ek kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. IF Elfsborg walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
