Robin Myr made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brian Mellbad in the 8th minute of play. In the 9th minute Henning Alefors shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ola Alebom saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 15 minutes into the match, Wengers Gunners's goal looked a bit too open when John Gustafsson came free, but Ola Alebom reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 19th minute Brian Mellbad shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robin Myr saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Robin Myr made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brian Mellbad in the 23rd minute of play. A collision led to Wengers Gunners getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Ivar Forss hit a great ball. In the 34th minute Marko Berg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ola Alebom saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edmund Odman hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Wengers Gunners's Ivar Forss got a free kick in the 40th minute. In the 43rd minute, Tommy Barck ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ola Alebom was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1.

Robin Myr showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivar Forss, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Ola Alebom took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henning Alefors, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ola Alebom made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Tommy Barck sent off a good shot on target. Brian Mellbad sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 62nd minute, Wengers Gunners's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Henning Alefors fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Brian Mellbad recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Robin Myr showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brian Mellbad in the 71st minute of the match. If John Gustafsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Henning Alefors managed to get in a good position for a shot. Västerås fotboll klubb's supporters rose to their feet, but Henning Alefors was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ola Alebom breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Västerås fotboll klubb's Tommy Barck got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 79th minute Henning Alefors shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ola Alebom saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Västerås fotboll klubb's Tommy Barck slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ola Alebom. That made the score 1-2 after 81 minutes of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Henning Alefors in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ola Alebom saved Wengers Gunners from getting behind. Helge Stabbe's late challenge caught a Västerås fotboll klubb's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Helge Stabbe helped the player get up and apologised. In the 90th match minute, Wengers Gunners was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Helge Stabbe to maneuver through the defense. Through an outstanding action, after 90 minutes, Ola Alebom successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The Wengers Gunners supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Västerås fotboll klubb's performance. The match ended with a win for Västerås fotboll klubb.
