Arne Bolander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michael Söderström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Skottorp's Brian Ambjörnsson got a free kick in the 8th minute. Mölndal's supporters rose to their feet, but Jörgen Klemensson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arne Bolander breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dan Jelm during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Mölndal getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Dan Jelm hit a great ball. Jens-Erik Gustafsson who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 15thth minute tested the skills of Bengt-Arne Browald when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Arne Bolander made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven-Edvin Ahlbeck in the 17th minute of play. In the 19th minute, one of Mölndal:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Mölndal. In the 23rd minute, Jens-Erik Gustafsson reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Bengt-Arne Browald. The goal made the score 3-0. 31 minutes into the match, Skottorp's goal looked a bit too open when Evert Vassenius came free, but Arne Bolander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 35th minute of the match Martin Molin sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Arne Bolander skillfully saved the ball. With a little luck, Mölndal's Bengt-Arne Browald got control of the ball when Tobias Busk tried to sneak it across the goal line. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jens-Erik Gustafsson to make the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jens-Erik Gustafsson in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bengt-Arne Browald saved Mölndal from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Jens-Erik Gustafsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bengt-Arne Browald was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. With a little luck, Skottorp's Arne Bolander got control of the ball when Dan Jelm tried to sneak it across the goal line. 60 minutes into the game, Tobias Busk was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. In the 68thth minute of the game Jens-Erik Gustafsson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mölndal's Bengt-Arne Browald was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Edmund Tillman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tobias Busk struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Bengt-Arne Browald didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Skottorp. Jens-Erik Gustafsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Bengt-Arne Browald tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Kristian Lundgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sven-Erik Lilja kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jens-Erik Gustafsson in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bengt-Arne Browald prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Tobias Busk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Skottorp's Niclas Lagerberg got a free kick in the 95th minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Skottorp had played much better football throughout.
