Norrtälje FC's Mats Eckegren got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Evert Brolin came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Norrtälje FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Evert Brolin couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alf Vinström in the 8th minute of play forced Västerås fotboll klubb's goalkeeper Robin Myr to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 8th minute of the game. One of Västerås fotboll klubb:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Norrtälje FC:s goal. After 15 minutes of play, Norrtälje FC's Evert Brolin made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Robin Myr was left in no man's land by his defense there! Robin Myr took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evert Brolin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When John Gustafsson fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Västerås fotboll klubb's protests and gave John Gustafsson a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Västerås fotboll klubb getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. John Gustafsson hit a great ball. 21 minutes into the match, Västerås fotboll klubb's goal looked a bit too open when Mats Eckegren came free, but Robin Myr reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 25 minutes, Tommy Barck mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Västerås fotboll klubb and the Norrtälje FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Henning Alefors kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. André Wikander didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Västerås fotboll klubb.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tommy Barck stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Evert Brolin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Norrtälje FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Evert Brolin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Robin Myr breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jan-Ove Lindgren recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. André Wikander made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tommy Barck in the 60th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Marko Berg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Västerås fotboll klubb's supporters rose to their feet, but Marko Berg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. André Wikander breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Evert Brolin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robin Myr having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Norrtälje FC's Robin Myr threw himself towards the right post 67 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Evert Brolin, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Robin Myr showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan-Ove Lindgren in the 67th minute of the match. Västerås fotboll klubb's Tommy Barck got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Robin Myr was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Evert Brolin showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 71 minute of play. If Jan-Ove Lindgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 76th minute, Henning Alefors hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 82 minutes into the match, Norrtälje FC's Evert Brolin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Robin Myr narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Mats Eckegren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robin Myr having to interfere. In the 90th minute, Tommy Barck left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Västerås fotboll klubb fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4.
