Spectators: 7484 (Terracing: 5634, Seating: 1700, VIP seats: 150) Värnamo's Stig Ekeberg started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Stig-Åke Brask took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henrik Ersman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jörn Vennerberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Orlando Oskarbi, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Stig-Åke Brask made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nils Eklund in the 6th minute. Vislanda IF's Stellan Sikström got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Stellan Sikström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Jörn Vennerberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Orlando Oskarbi in the 17th minute of play forced Värnamo's goalkeeper Jörn Vennerberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Värnamo's Jörn Vennerberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stellan Sikström in the 18th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Orlando Oskarbi in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jörn Vennerberg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 23rdth minute of the game Orlando Oskarbi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Värnamo's Jörn Vennerberg was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 26th minute, Tom Tidéksson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Stig-Åke Brask made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stig Ekeberg in the 29th minute of play. After 34 minutes of play, Vislanda IF's Orlando Oskarbi made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jörn Vennerberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Stellan Sikström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Orlando Oskarbi in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jörn Vennerberg saved Värnamo from getting behind. Värnamo's Jörn Vennerberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Orlando Oskarbi in the 40th minute of play. Sven-Erik Wahlström hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Vislanda IF's zone, Nils Eklund stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stig-Åke Brask came out of the goal and Nils Eklund tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Orlando Oskarbi made a kick off. A collision led to Vislanda IF getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Hans Björkqvist hit a great ball. When Vislanda IF's Orlando Oskarbi in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Värnamo's goalie prevented a goal. 67 minutes into the match, Värnamo's goal looked a bit too open when Orlando Oskarbi came free, but Jörn Vennerberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Orlando Oskarbi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Orlando Oskarbi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Jörn Vennerberg made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. With his leg Jörn Vennerberg managed to avoid a goal in the 80thth minute, when Vislanda IF's Stellan Sikström fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Jörn Vennerberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Orlando Oskarbi's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. Värnamo's Jörn Vennerberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Värnamo from getting a goal against them. After 88 played minutes Värnamo got a freekick which was hit by Henrik Ersman. Stig-Åke Brask showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stig Ekeberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. When the match was over Vislanda IF could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Värnamo throughout the match.
