The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ulf Lundgren didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Håkan Sillén went, in the 3rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. When Per Håkansson fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hammarby SK's protests and gave Per Håkansson a yellow card for diving instead. Per Håkansson hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Niklas Koch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Per Håkansson in the 15th minute of the match. If Per Håkansson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Niklas Koch made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Patrick Bergdal sent off a good shot on target. In the 22nd minute Tobias Ekrot shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ulf Lundgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ulf Lundgren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tobias Ekrot, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. 31 minutes into the match, Hammarby SK's goal looked a bit too open when Tobias Ekrot came free, but Ulf Lundgren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Patrick Bergdal made the kick off in the second half. Hammarby SK's Ulf Lundgren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonas Gummeson in the 51st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Skee's Jonas Gummeson got a free kick in the 55th minute. In the 64th match minute, Hammarby SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nils Wallmark to maneuver through the defense. Ulf Lundgren made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jonas Gummeson in the 67th minute. A collision led to Hammarby SK getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Joakim Majman hit a great ball. In the 70th play minute Håkan Sillén came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Ulf Lundgren. 0-2. Jonas Gummeson got his second yellow card in the match during the 76th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Hammarby SK booed when Skee was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonas Gummeson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Per-Arne Josefsson's late challenge caught a Skee's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Per-Arne Josefsson helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Skee booed when Hammarby SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Per-Arne Josefsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ulf Lundgren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tobias Ekrot in the 85th minute of play. Ulf Lundgren was out of position in the 88 minute of play, and Tobias Ekrot capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Tobias Ekrot really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. After 95 minutes of play, Skee's Håkan Sillén made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ulf Lundgren was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the final whistle sounded Skee left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Hammarby SK.
