The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Douglas Unesson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The Skultuna fans' excitement grew in the 45th match minute when Skultuna's Ingemar Hernström looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

In the last second Douglas Unesson throw himself and got hold of the ball when Jimmy Rang in the 51stth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Douglas Unesson, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henry Apelkvist in the 80th minute of play forced Skultuna's goalkeeper Jesse Pinkman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 82nd minute, Skultuna's Osvaldo Truylos seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Osvaldo Truylos the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Skultuna protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Osvaldo Truylos had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 81st minute of the game. One of Skultuna:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Grottan Boys:s goal. When André Waller came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Skultuna fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that André Waller couldn't finish the play. Jesse Pinkman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henry Apelkvist in the 90th minute of play. 95 minutes into the game, Jimmy Rang recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Douglas Unesson. Jimmy Rang showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Skultuna eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
