Torsten Söderqwist was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 23rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Sven-Olof Gustavsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mathias Pihl in the 25th minute of the match. København fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mathias Pihl couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lennart Deckbergh got free with Ludwig Carlsson in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in F.C. København's zone, Pål Nilsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ludwig Carlsson came out of the goal and Pål Nilsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. StarFC's Lennart Deckbergh got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. F.C. København's Jan-Åke Sjögren suffered a torn muscle in his knee after 48 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Anders Söderman kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pål Nilsson was the one to do the kick off. Ludwig Carlsson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lennart Deckbergh went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. After having played for 58 minutes, Pål Nilsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. StarFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pål Nilsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ludwig Carlsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pål Nilsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. In the 62nd minute, Pål Nilsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 64 minutes, Lennart Deckbergh made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. F.C. København's Ludwig Carlsson tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Lennart Deckbergh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. StarFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Pål Nilsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ludwig Carlsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. StarFC had played much better football throughout.
