Ludwig Carlsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lennart Deckbergh in the 22nd minute of the match. Harald Ekström hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Through an outstanding action, after 26 minutes, Sven-Olof Gustavsson successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Ludwig Carlsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pål Nilsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pål Nilsson in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ludwig Carlsson saved F.C. København from getting behind. Jens Mattsson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 34th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ludwig Carlsson. F.C. København's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Pål Nilsson came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the StarFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pål Nilsson couldn't finish the play. Pål Nilsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ludwig Carlsson having to interfere. In the 41st minute, Tord Odman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Mathias Pihl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 45th match minute, StarFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Per Classon to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 47 minutes, Torsten Söderqwist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. F.C. København's supporters crossed their fingers, but Torsten Söderqwist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pål Nilsson was the one to do the kick off. Mathias Pihl fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sven-Olof Gustavsson having to interfere. StarFC's Pål Nilsson got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tage Vase's late challenge caught a F.C. In the 78th match minute, StarFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tage Vase to maneuver through the defense. 84 minutes into the match, StarFC's goal looked a bit too open when Mathias Pihl came free, but Sven-Olof Gustavsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in StarFC's zone, Mathias Pihl stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sven-Olof Gustavsson came out of the goal and Mathias Pihl tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Robert Sjödin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sven-Olof Gustavsson having to interfere. From close distance Lennart Deckbergh pressed in the 0-1 goal high up into nets stiches in the right cross 95 minutes into the game.
