The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Fritz Cane came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by Horn FK's Mats Falk. But to his dismay, Mats Falk quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. If Herbert Lundkvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Håkan Carlsson struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Rickard Lindgren didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KingClub. Horn FK's Mats Falk got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 17 minutes into the match, Pelle Strömqvist had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fritz Cane. KingClub's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pelle Strömqvist was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After 23 played minutes KingClub got a freekick which was hit by Valter Sandström. KingClub's Fritz Cane played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mats Falk in the 27th minute of play. Fritz Cane showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pelle Strömqvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. If Pelle Strömqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Mats Falk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 42nd minute Mats Falk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fritz Cane saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 43 minutes into the match, KingClub's goal looked a bit too open when Pelle Strömqvist came free, but Fritz Cane reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pelle Strömqvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fritz Cane having to interfere. Pelle Strömqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Håkan Carlsson to strike the kick off in the second half. Mats Falk's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fritz Cane read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. 62 minutes into the match, KingClub's goalkeeper Fritz Cane had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mats Falk. After a defensive mix-up in KingClub's zone, Pelle Strömqvist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fritz Cane came out of the goal and Pelle Strömqvist tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to KingClub getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Mikael Hellström hit a great ball. KingClub's Fritz Cane played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pelle Strömqvist in the 71st minute of play. After 81 played minutes Horn FK got a freekick which was hit by Pelle Strömqvist. With an all-out effort, Horn FK's Fritz Cane threw himself towards the right post 84 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Pelle Strömqvist, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Horn FK's Nicklas Ahlgren shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 86th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Fritz Cane but with some difficulty. When Pelle Strömqvist got free in front of the goal in the 90th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Fritz Cane was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 91st match minute, KingClub was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valter Sandström to maneuver through the defense. Horn FK's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
