Joacim Hydén made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alvin Vester in the 3rd minute of play. 13 minutes into the match, Gullholmen's goal looked a bit too open when Harald Törnkvist came free, but Joacim Hydén reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 30 minutes, Mattias Martinsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bredaryd IFK and the Gullholmen players grew even worse after the yellow card. 29 minutes into the game, one of Bredaryd IFK:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Tor Beckström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rudolf Haraldsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Gullholmen's Joacim Hydén played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kent Samuelsson in the 36th minute of play. In the 38th match minute, Bredaryd IFK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sven Fransson to maneuver through the defense. Oscar Persson might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tor Beckström. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Oscar Persson ran back to his position shaking his head. Rudolf Haraldsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tor Beckström having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Oscar Persson to strike the kick off in the second half. When Kent Samuelsson fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bredaryd IFK's protests and gave Kent Samuelsson a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Bredaryd IFK's Kent Samuelsson got a free kick in the 51st minute. Fritz Lundin hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Harald Törnkvist scored 0-1 in the 58th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joacim Hydén, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gullholmen's supporters rose to their feet, but Oscar Persson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tor Beckström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Manfred Sandström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Chants of Bredaryd IFK echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Gullholmen had held the ball for most of the match.
