The supporters of Lima FK booed when Hörnefors IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Freddie Benet didn't get a good kick on the ball. Filip Andersson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Kjell-Arne Stolpe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carl Enegren lost his temper 29 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Hörnefors IF:s Kjell-Arne Stolpe showed great skill when he stopped Börge Sundén:s penalty. Kjell-Arne Stolpe didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Börge Sundén went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tommy Hellström made a kick off. When Eskil Beckström fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Leif Nyström took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 57th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Kjell-Arne Stolpe. Hörnefors IF's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Sven-Olof Bergfelt's late challenge caught a Lima FK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. But to his dismay, Börge Sundén quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Bo-Erik Bergström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 87th minute Börge Sundén shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kjell-Arne Stolpe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
