The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Hugo Back showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tage Lundberg in the 5th minute of the match. If Ingvar Frisck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Saltö BK defense, Sixten Lundström kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hugo Back. The Saltö BK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hugo Back should have stopped the shot. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Torsby FF's goalkeeper Christian Apelkvist, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hugo Back didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ingvar Frisck went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After 23 minutes, Tage Lundberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Torsby FF and the Saltö BK players grew even worse after the yellow card. Tage Lundberg hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. In the 25th match minute, Torsby FF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ingvar Frisck to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Torsby FF's Christian Apelkvist got control of the ball when Per-Arne Nordkvist tried to sneak it across the goal line. Per-Arne Nordkvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christian Apelkvist having to interfere. Torsby FF's Sixten Lundström got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With 41 minutes on the clock, Victor Lang commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Ingvar Frisck shot the penalty kick right outside the post. After 44 played minutes Torsby FF got a freekick which was hit by Jan Säv. A collision led to Saltö BK getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Carl Kvalfält hit a great ball. The Saltö BK players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Torsby FF were winning 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ingvar Frisck made a kick off. 60 minutes into the match, Saltö BK's goal looked a bit too open when Sixten Lundström came free, but Hugo Back reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Torsby FF defense, Markus Johansson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Christian Apelkvist. The Torsby FF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Christian Apelkvist should have stopped the shot. In the 63rd match minute, Torsby FF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ingvar Frisck to maneuver through the defense. Hugo Back showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ingvar Frisck, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. When Per-Arne Nordkvist came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Saltö BK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Per-Arne Nordkvist couldn't finish the play.
