In the 2nd minute, Jens-Ove Bengtsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evert Holm in the 7th minute of play forced Grömsta BK's goalkeeper Beržas Biknius to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 9 minutes, Evert Holm put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Beržas Biknius. Beržas Biknius showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Börge Karlsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. If Eddie Jakobsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Evert Holm recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the Grömsta BK defense, Evert Holm kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Beržas Biknius. The Grömsta BK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Beržas Biknius should have stopped the shot. After 31 minutes Grömsta BK's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Evert Holm who took care of the corner kick. When Blue Mountain Goats's Evert Holm in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Grömsta BK's goalie prevented a goal. After having played for 35 minutes, Eddie Jakobsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grömsta BK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eddie Jakobsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 35th match minute, Blue Mountain Goats was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sune Åberg to maneuver through the defense. Beržas Biknius took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Börge Karlsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Beržas Biknius made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evert Holm in the 46th minute of play. Beržas Biknius showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Evert Holm, who was totally free with the ball in the 49th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Evert Holm was the one to do the kick off. Evert Holm struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Beržas Biknius didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Blue Mountain Goats. After a rather tough play, Blue Mountain Goats's Evert Holm got a free kick in the 59th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Evert Holm got free with Beržas Biknius in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Beržas Biknius made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Börge Karlsson in the 69th minute of play. After 70 played minutes Grömsta BK got a freekick which was hit by Ingemar Persson. Evert Holm made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 71stth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Beržas Biknius would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Beržas Biknius stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Börge Karlsson's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. Evert Holm could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Beržas Biknius made a huge save. Thanks to some nice moves Evert Holm could shoot a difficult shot in the 77th minute, which Beržas Biknius however easily saved by the left post. In the 89th minute of the match, Evert Holm tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Beržas Biknius saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Evert Holm was shown his second yellow card after 92 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Grömsta BK booed when Blue Mountain Goats was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evert Holm didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 97th match minute, Blue Mountain Goats was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Karl-Åke Lundblad to maneuver through the defense. When the match was over Blue Mountain Goats could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Grömsta BK throughout the match.
