Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Claes Alrot ran back to his position shaking his head. Hans Sundén received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Ralf Dahlgren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Hans Sundén had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gunnar Söderkvist kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Gunnar Söderkvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ralf Dahlgren having to interfere. Ove Almstedt charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ove Almstedt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Helsingborgs IF getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Ove Almstedt hit a great ball. Gunnar Söderkvist kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Claes Alrot stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Gunnar Söderkvist managed to get in a good position for a shot. Helsingborgs IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Gunnar Söderkvist was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ralf Dahlgren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Claes Alrot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hans Sundén sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 64th minute, Per-Åke Wallman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hans Sundén struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Ralf Dahlgren didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Helsingborgs IF. In the 75th match minute, Borgafjället was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claes Alrot to maneuver through the defense. After 76 played minutes Borgafjället got a freekick which was hit by Arne Wallin. Gunnar Söderkvist's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ralf Dahlgren read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. After having played for 84 minutes, Hans Sundén managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Helsingborgs IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hans Sundén was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Helsingborgs IF's Hans Sundén got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Helsingborgs IF booed when Borgafjället was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arne Wallin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Helsingborgs IF's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
