The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 played minutes Åmotfors United got a freekick which was hit by Robert Njurenius. In the 15th minute, Åmotfors United's Kim Larsfält ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Manfred Sandström. Manfred Sandström yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. 20 minutes into the match, Billy Stenqvist notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Åmotfors United's Bo-Erik Möllgren. Bo-Erik Möllgren was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Per-Olof Nilsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manfred Sandström having to interfere. 27 minutes into the match, Åmotfors United's goal looked a bit too open when Billy Stenqvist came free, but Bo-Erik Möllgren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Manfred Sandström made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kim Larsfält in the 28th minute. After a rather tough play, IF Hisingen's Freddie Hermansson got a free kick in the 29th minute. In the 31st minute Fredrik Haglund shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manfred Sandström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 32nd minute, Fredrik Haglund got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Åmotfors United's Bo-Erik Möllgren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Björn Wiman in the 36th minute of play. Per-Olof Nilsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in IF Hisingen's zone, Kim Larsfält stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manfred Sandström came out of the goal and Kim Larsfält tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When IF Hisingen's Björn Wiman in the 44th minute got a chance for a shot 44th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kim Larsfält made a kick off. Manfred Sandström came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Åmotfors United's Per-Olof Nilsson. But to his dismay, Per-Olof Nilsson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Bernt Fransson kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. 59 minutes into the match, Åmotfors United's Per-Olof Nilsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Manfred Sandström narrowly saved just below the crossbar. IF Hisingen's Manfred Sandström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kim Larsfält in the 61st minute of play. Per-Olof Nilsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Åmotfors United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Per-Olof Nilsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Billy Stenqvist in the 90th minute of play forced Åmotfors United's goalkeeper Bo-Erik Möllgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of IF Hisingen booed when Åmotfors United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olle Ström didn't get a good kick on the ball. Olle Ström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manfred Sandström having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Åmotfors United fans cheered their team off the field, for while IF Hisingen had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
