Hajduk Split's Verner Vallman was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 7th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After some careless play in the Potatis Potatis Potatis defense, Rolf Jespersson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Martin Haglund. The Potatis Potatis Potatis fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Martin Haglund should have stopped the shot. There was no doubt that Hajduk Split were the better team. Hajduk Split's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
