The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Herman Nordin charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Herman Nordin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Handmåla FK booed when Rengsjö was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Herman Nordin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Handmåla FK's Bengt-Åke Dahlman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Handmåla FK from getting a goal against them. Patrik Juhlin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 16 minutes into the game, Ralf Haström cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Bengt-Åke Dahlman was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 21 minutes into the match, Handmåla FK's goalkeeper Bengt-Åke Dahlman had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ralf Haström. With a little luck, Handmåla FK's Bengt-Åke Dahlman got control of the ball when Ralf Haström tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Handmåla FK booed when Rengsjö was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Kjellman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bengt-Åke Dahlman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ralf Haström in the 30th minute. If Patrik Juhlin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bengt-Åke Dahlman was out of position in the 35 minute of play, and Patrik Juhlin capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Patrik Juhlin really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Patrik Juhlin received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Bengt-Åke Dahlman came out and tried to block the shot, but Patrik Juhlin slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 38th minute. Handmåla FK's Bengt-Åke Dahlman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patrik Juhlin in the 43rd minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Patrik Juhlin to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patrik Juhlin in the 52nd minute of play forced Handmåla FK's goalkeeper Bengt-Åke Dahlman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ralf Haström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Bengt-Åke Dahlman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Patrik Juhlin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bengt-Åke Dahlman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patrik Juhlin in the 57th minute of the match. Ralf Haström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bengt-Åke Dahlman having to interfere. Ralf Haström's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bengt-Åke Dahlman read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ralf Haström in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bengt-Åke Dahlman saved Handmåla FK from getting behind. In the 74th minute, Patrik Juhlin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Patrik Juhlin took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bengt-Åke Dahlman. Bengt-Åke Dahlman dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ralf Haström in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bengt-Åke Dahlman saved Handmåla FK from getting behind. Patrik Juhlin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bengt-Åke Dahlman having to make a save. 85 minutes into the game, Ralf Haström cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Bengt-Åke Dahlman was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 88 minutes into the game, Ragnar Dusett was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rengsjö's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Handmåla FK the free kick. After 88 played minutes Rengsjö got a freekick which was hit by Ragnar Dusett. Gustaf Stenkvist could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Henric Allbom made a huge save. The Rengsjö fans' excitement grew in the 91st match minute when Rengsjö's Ralf Haström looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Patrik Juhlin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rengsjö's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
