The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Edmund Zagrobelny kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. 9 minutes into the match, Änglarna's goal looked a bit too open when Joakim Hökqvist came free, but Kalle Bergsten reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A hard shot 13 in the game by Sture Telin from a close distance when the talented Olov Åström managed to make a qualified save. Strömnäs IF's players were relieved. Olov Åström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sture Telin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 18th minute of the match Strömnäs IF got a corner. Änglarna's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Edmund Zagrobelny ran over to the corner to take the kick. Sture Telin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Olov Åström made a huge save. Ryszard Tyskie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Jago Terrilla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Olov Åström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bertil Ahlfors in the 38th minute of the match. Olov Åström was a little too slow when Bertil Ahlfors got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 43rd minute. The score was now 2-0. Strömnäs IF's Olov Åström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bertil Ahlfors in the 47th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Änglarna's Kalle Bergsten played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joakim Hökqvist in the 53rd minute of play. Kalle Bergsten didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Joakim Hökqvist went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Joakim Hökqvist struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Kalle Bergsten didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Strömnäs IF. In the 61st minute, Serafino Bernad hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 62 minutes into the game, Änglarna's Sture Telin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Olov Åström made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Olov Åström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sture Telin in the 66th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sture Telin in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Olov Åström prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 73 minutes into the match, Strömnäs IF's goal looked a bit too open when Teobaldo Chuan came free, but Olov Åström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joakim Hökqvist took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kalle Bergsten. Kalle Bergsten dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. Leif Danielsson hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Änglarna's zone, Joakim Hökqvist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kalle Bergsten came out of the goal and Joakim Hökqvist tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 84th minute, one of Änglarna:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Änglarna. Änglarna:s Kalle Bergsten showed great skill when he stopped Joakim Hökqvist:s penalty. In the 87th minute Jago Terrilla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olov Åström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 89th minute, one of Strömnäs IF:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Strömnäs IF. 99 minutes into the game, Änglarna's Sture Telin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot.
